Dickens 2012 is an international celebration of the life and work of Charles Dickens that marks the bicentenary of his birth which falls on 7 February 2012. Institutions and organisations from all over the world are partners of Dickens 2012 and work together to deliver a programme of events and activities to commemorate this very special anniversary.
Charles Dickens was born at Landport, in Portsea, on February 7, 1812, the second of eight children.He was an English novelist, generally considered the greatest of the Victorian period. A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist and David Copperfield are one of his most famous novels.2012 is a very good year to visit London because you can participate in many activities about this great English writer and of course, you can watch some sport event at the Olympic Games!
