WELCOME SPRING!

Spring has come this morning, at 6.14, but it seems that we are still in winter! It's raining and raining, and in some parts of Spain is snowing too. Even though we hope that the rain falls down a few days more because we have a terrible drought. But spring is here and our hearts are full of warm feelings. Do you want to read a nice poem about spring? Ok, here you are!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Today, 17th of March, it is St. Patrick´s Day, the patron saint of Ireland. That means that everyone has to wear green and hold a shamrock. You can also try to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but be careful with the leprechaun! A leprechaun will be taking care of it and he is very clever. If you succeed in trapping one, them the pot of gold will be yours. That´s why many children prepare leprechaun´s traps on St. Patrick´s Day Eve.

CELEBRATING THE 200th BIRTHDAY OF CHARLES DICKENS

Dickens 2012 is an international celebration of the life and work of Charles Dickens that marks the bicentenary of his birth which falls on 7 February 2012. Institutions and organisations from all over the world are partners of Dickens 2012 and work together to deliver a programme of events and activities to commemorate this very special anniversary.

Charles Dickens was born at Landport, in Portsea, on February 7, 1812, the second of eight children.He was an English novelist, generally considered the greatest of the Victorian period. A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist and David Copperfield are one of his most famous novels.

2012 is a very good year to visit London because you can participate in many activities about this great English  writer and of course, you can watch some sport event at  the Olympic Games!
