GOODBYE MILIKI. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS

THANKSGIVING AND BLACK FRIDAY

Thanksgiving Day, is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. This year will be on the 22nd of November. Thanksgiving celebrates cooperation between Native Americans and Pilgrims living in MA in the 1600s. This is because of Native Americans taught Pilgrims how to farm. They had a great harvest and made a feast  for everyone. Today American people celebrate Thanksgiving with a feast. The families meet for dinner. Traditional Thanksgiving dinner is made of roasted turkey, stuffingmashed potatoes with gravysweet potatoescranberry saucesweet corn, and pumpkin pie.
Thanksgiving is a four-day or five-day weekend vacation for schools and colleges. There are a lot of parades, one of the most famous is in New York.
American football is an important part of many Thanksgiving celebrations in the United States. Professional football games are often held on Thanksgiving Day. And of course, there are many others sports that are televised on Thanksgiving as well.
Black Friday is the name given to the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

I hope you enjoyed all activities we did along the year: our special week in Beniganim, our fantastic play "The little Prince", your good job at English class...And I sincerely hope  you enjoy in your secondary studies, and of course I hope you never forget your Primary English teacher. And the rest of my pupils, enjoy your summer and I will see you in September!

EASTER TRADITIONS

Easter is a Christian Holiday celebrated in the spring. On Easter Sunday many families go to chuch and people wear beautiful Easter bonnets.
People send nice Easter cards.
On Easter some cities have an Easter Day parade.
During Easter we can see colorful Easter eggs. Easter eggs are hand painted or dyed. Painting and dying Easter eggs is a lot of fun. The eggs are put into beautiful Easter baskets. Children have to find the Easter eggs that are hunt in the gardens. Another activity is an Easter egg roll. Egg rolling is very popular in England and the rest of the UK and is an Easter Monday sport. Hard-boiled eggs are rolled down a hill. Customs differ from place to place. The winner's egg may be the one that rolls the farthest, survives the most rolls, or is rolled between two pegs.
On Easter we see the Easter bunny. The Easter bunny brings Easter baskets filled with colored eggs, candy and toys to the homes of children on the night before Easter.
Children can eat chocolate Easter bunnies and jelly beans.
People also eat hot cross buns. They are traditionally eaten hot or toasted on Good Friday, with the cross standing as a symbol of The Crucifixion.
